PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene))

PTFE, polytetrafluoroethylene, is a modified ethylene polymer where all hydrogen atoms are replaced by fluorine. This fluorine-containing plastic is characterized by several high-performance material properties. It exhibits a low coefficient of friction and withstands extremely high temperatures, ranging from -200°C to +260°C. PTFE further distinguishes itself with excellent chemical resistance and, above all, a non-stick surface.
Product Range of Profilplast in PTFE
Profilplast offers an extensive range of PTFE sheet materials. PTFE is known for its excellent dielectric properties, making it one of the best insulators among plastics. Because PTFE is a pure material, it is suitable for direct contact with foodstuffs. Moreover, the material properties (such as wear and pressure resistance) of PTFE can be significantly enhanced by adding materials such as fiberglass, glass beads, carbon, graphite, molybdenum disulfide, or bronze. This makes it an extremely suitable solution for applications in various industries including offshore, food and beverage, semiconductor, and medical industries.
