PETG (Polyethylene Terephthalate Glycol)

PETG (Polyethylene Terephthalate Glycol) is a thermoplastic copolyester, primarily known for its use as a material replacing PC. PETG is a modified version of the original PET, achieved through the addition of glycol. This addition results in several unique material properties, such as transparency and extreme impact resistance (even at temperatures as low as -40°C). Additionally, PETG is less prone to tearing and can withstand bending stresses well. Its processing temperature is significantly lower than PET, allowing it to retain transparency under various forms of manipulation, making it an ideal material for thermoforming. Furthermore, PETG is food safe, meaning it can safely come into contact with food without restrictions.

Product Range of Profilplast in PETG

Profilplast offers an extensive range of PETG sheet materials. Due to its excellent processing parameters, high light transmission (up to 90%), and good temperature resistance, PETG is a reliable solution across various industries. It is commonly used in applications within the advertising, packaging, and medical industries.

Profilplast holds various certifications related to PETG, including DIN 4102 B1 for fire behavior and physiological safety according to BfR standards. Moreover, it complies with food safety standards such as the Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) and EU 10/2011 Food Grade regulations.
